I'm Ariel Martín Pérez, an Art & Type Director.
I'm the founder of the Tainome ◌ design studio.
I'm also part of the open source type foundries Velvetyne √ (core member since 2018) and Tunera ∂ (that I founded in 2020).

- 2025 - Résin - logotype for an engineering directory, directed by Sciences Po's Medialab and Université Paris Cité.
- 2023 - Meaning Machine - logotype for a videogame company.
- 2022-2023 - Concept art book and logotypes for the "Dead Meat" and "Praise Be!" video games, developed by Meaning Machine Games.
- 2020-2021 - Unknown Number video game - Art direction, visual identity, custom open-source typeface, UX design, graphic elements for this video game published by Meaning Machine Games in 2022.
- 2020 - Starbucks, Edizioni 2.0 studio (Italy) - Three full-page infographics about coffee published in an Italian journal.
- 2018 - Hey Mama! Magazine - Illustration maps for the Mama Shelter hotels’ magazine.
- 2016 - Mugo - landscaping studio - Art direction and posters for the "Pariculteurs" competition of the city of Paris. One of the two submitted projects received an award.
- 2015 - Idée Collaborative magazine - Art direction and original illustrations for this circular economy magazine.
- 2015 - 2022 - The Good Life magazine - Vector illustrations and infographics on geopolitical subjects, resulting in a total of more than 40 illustrated articles for the issues of the magazine published between March 2015 and April 2022.

- 2025 - Civette - pixel typeface for Juliette Lily.
- 2024 - Tanklager - DIN-grotesque hybrid for Jef Klak magazine.
- 2024 - Tajaste - angular fork of open-source font Canarina, for CACT Lanzarote.
- 2023 - Luperca - modern Roman capitals for Cercle magazine.
- 2022 - Sligoil - monospace typeface with large inktraps for Meaning Machine.
- 2022 - Roubaix Industrielle - constructed typeface with various heights, for the Office of Tourism of the city of Roubaix.
- 2021 - Picaflor - calligraphic-infused didone for Cercle Magazine.

- 26th – 27th March 2021 - Genius Loci: psychogeography and cartography workshop for Atlas Cinema at La Générale (Paris, 14th district).
- 8th – 9th June 2019 - Imago Mundi Mei: Type design workshop organized with Velvetyne Type Foundry at La Paillasse (Paris, France), along with Océane Juvin and Anton Moglia in the context of the Fanzines! Festival.
- 14th February 2019 - Typefaces for a Solarpunk Future: typography workshop organized with Velvetyne Type Foundry for the Fig. festival in Liège (Belgium).

- 15th November 2025 - Typographic Nights XVII (Paris Edition): Typographic Nights is a "series where professional designers create in real time, sharing their screens as they respond to text prompts from the audience." For this particular session, Ariel did a live presentation alongside designers Rasha Dakkak and Bart de Baets, in the context of the Offprint Paris festival at Césure, in representation of Velvetyne Type Foundry. Typographic Nights is an event organized by Page Not Found, a centre for artistic and independent publishing based in The Hague (Netherlands).
- 9th October 2025 - La véritable et étrange histoire du Sligoil: Typographic talk for the 20th edition of "Les Jeudis de Lure", a series of design meetings organized by the Rencontres de Lure association. For this edition, I did a presentation about the history of Sligoil, a monospace typeface with large inktraps that I designed for the Unknown Number video game (published by Meaning Machine).
- 6th May 2024 - (Dés)alignement : quand les IAs franchissent les lignes rouges: conference about artificial intelligence and alignment at the Université Paris 8, in the context of the ANIMADE symposium.
- 27th October 2021 - Libre Échange: conference about the Velvetyne Type Foundry and the motivations to design typefaces at ESAD Orléans school (Orléans, France), along with Julien Imbert.
- 21st January 2021 - La Véritable histoire de Velvetyne: talk about the history of the Velvetyne Type Foundry at Les Gobelins school (Paris, France), along with Julien Imbert.
- 1st November 2020 - Le Mourier: online conference about the history of the typeface Mourier (designed by Eric Mourier), along with Sébastien Hayez, in the context of the 7th Edition of the Fonts&Faces international symposium, organized by Simon Renaud and the Campus Fonderie de l'Image school.
- 3rd June 2013 - 3615 Strabic #1 at La Gaîté Lyrique — "Algae jacta est : Le futur des algues": talk about the utility of microscopic algae for art projects in the field of DIY biology, along with Loïc Laureote.
